Where It All Began
I didn’t grow up in a family of chefs, but I did grow up in a house where food meant love. Backyard cookouts, church picnics, weekend family dinners—those were the moments that shaped my earliest memories. I watched my grandfather slow-smoke pork shoulder for hours while telling stories. I saw my mom whip up marinades with instinct and soul. And I learned early on that good barbecue brings people together in a way nothing else can.
Still, it wasn’t until my late twenties that I picked up the tongs myself. At first, I just wanted to recreate those family recipes. But soon, I was experimenting—adding my own rubs, trying different wood chips, tweaking cooking times, and falling headfirst into the world of barbecue.

BBQPitRecipes started in my backyard, literally.
